An 8-Step Guide to Cloud-native Application Development
As most organizations do not have the luxury of completely rebuilding their technology foundation or immediately adopting new practices and mindsets. They are embracing gradual yet fundamental shifts in culture, processes, and technology to support greater velocity and agility. With software increasingly key to how users engage with businesses and how businesses innovate to stay competitive, the speed of application development and delivery is the new digital business imperative. The cloud-native approach describes a way of modernizing existing applications and building new applications based on cloud principles, using services and adopting processes optimized for the agility and automation of cloud computing.

In this session, we provide an 8-step guide to support the cloud-native application development journey and we’ll hear from Patrick Dredge, Project Manager at IP Australia, together with his colleague Damien Lederer, how their organisation has undertaken the journey together with Red Hat.

Dealing with a MultiCloud World
Most companies today, have accepted that they will either move some workloads to the cloud, and/or they will adopt new applications delivered through the cloud. This means that companies everywhere need to examine how the network will change when the cloud is involved.
If the move to multicloud means that enterprises have to adopt a new set of tools and operating procedures for each cloud, then cost and effort will skyrocket, both of which impact overall IT performance and budget. To fully reap the advantages of multicloud, you need the agility to run any workload on any cloud and manage your multivendor resources as a single, cohesive infrastructure

This presentation will show how Juniper’s Contrail Enterprise Multicloud (CEM) can take advantage of Multi-Cloud’s benefits whilst simplifying its management and security.

How to Fund Your IT Innovation
Red Hat’s Infrastructure Migration Solution can help organizations accelerate their digital transformation journey without increasing their costs, allowing them to invest in transformative technologies such as containers, automation, and multi-cloud management by lowering the cost of their existing infrastructure investments.

The solution achieves this by analyzing the cost of the existing infrastructure and providing an alternative virtualization platform for both new growth and existing workloads. New workloads can be delivered on the alternative platform in an automated fashion with self-service ensuring IT can quickly recreate the workloads on future platforms, such as public clouds without a heavy burden. Existing workloads are then analyzed and migrated using a proven methodology to ensure all business requirements are satisfied for the workload, such as migrating within proper change control windows and having approvals from needed stakeholders.

Finally, the savings realized from the infrastructure migration, often 40-50% over the existing long-term commitment are used to accelerate adoption of technologies around multi-cloud management, automation, and containers.

Modernise your Business by moving your Applications and Processes to the Cloud
How many different applications do you host in your enterprise ?
Many companies look at a growing number of disparate internal and external applications that need to be integrated, modernised and cloud enabled to grow the business and roll out new products faster.
Studies show that many organisations invest too little in modernising their core applications and therefore run the risk of not catching up to their competitors in a rapidly changing market.
In this session we will look at different strategies how you can use Red Hat technologies to
- Replace expensive, proprietary code in your applications with Open Source and microservices based alternatives to make them more flexible and reusable
- Containerise your applications to decouple them from the underlying infrastructure and migrate them to a Hybrid Cloud model
- Modernise your integration platform through an API first strategy
- Empower your people by moving your workflows and business rules to a Hybrid Cloud model
