An 8-Step Guide to Cloud-native Application Development
As most organizations do not have the luxury of completely rebuilding their technology foundation or immediately adopting new practices and mindsets. They are embracing gradual yet fundamental shifts in culture, processes, and technology to support greater velocity and agility. With software increasingly key to how users engage with businesses and how businesses innovate to stay competitive, the speed of application development and delivery is the new digital business imperative. The cloud-native approach describes a way of modernizing existing applications and building new applications based on cloud principles, using services and adopting processes optimized for the agility and automation of cloud computing.

In this session, we provide an 8-step guide to support the cloud-native application development journey and we’ll hear from Patrick Dredge, Project Manager at IP Australia, together with his colleague Damien Lederer, how their organisation has undertaken the journey together with Red Hat.

API-centric Agile Integration: APIs to iPaaS
No industry is safe from being disrupted by nimble and fast moving new entrants. WhatsApp is a great example of a 50 person startup which almost wiped out the $33bn global SMS market of the Telco giants. Today's most important business capability is agility. Realizing business agility requires different infrastructure and capabilities. Agile Integration is an architectural approach that helps deliver faster and adaptable services. Attend this session to learn about API-centric agile integration, Red Hat's agile integration products and customers who have embarked on this journey.

Whats New Whats Next? AppDev Futures and Roadmap
Many of today’s most widely adopted enterprise technologies have their roots in  “open source”. The result is a giant sea change in how organisations innovate and deliver value to customers, citizens and stakeholders, moving innovation from proprietary development to community based models. In turn the mindset around value, planning, skills and what is possible has shifted.
In this breakout session Fytos and Andreas will discuss current strategy, product roadmaps and the open source projects and initiatives Red Hat are investing in to productise new features, enhancements and products lines. The duo will explore Openshift, the Kubernetes project, the impact of the rapidly changing Container market, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Red Hat’s Data Strategy.
Whether you are developing your IT strategy or want to stay in touch with what’s coming or possible today, this session will provide insight, and a sneak peek into the thinking and evolution of Red Hat’s product and customer strategy.

Modernise your Business by moving your Applications and Processes to the Cloud
How many different applications do you host in your enterprise ?
Many companies look at a growing number of disparate internal and external applications that need to be integrated, modernised and cloud enabled to grow the business and roll out new products faster.
Studies show that many organisations invest too little in modernising their core applications and therefore run the risk of not catching up to their competitors in a rapidly changing market.
In this session we will look at different strategies how you can use Red Hat technologies to
- Replace expensive, proprietary code in your applications with Open Source and microservices based alternatives to make them more flexible and reusable
- Containerise your applications to decouple them from the underlying infrastructure and migrate them to a Hybrid Cloud model
- Modernise your integration platform through an API first strategy
- Empower your people by moving your workflows and business rules to a Hybrid Cloud model
